Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome … to George Richardson Stadium for today’s game…..
featuring your ……Queen’s Gaels!
For almost a century, Richardson Stadium has been the literal and figurative rallying point for Queen’s students, alumni, family and friends. Many have already "suited up" on this important project and thanks to early supporters, construction is underway, with the new stadium scheduled to open for the 2016 football season. A lot of dirt has been moved and the new footprint is in place, but there is still time for you and your family to be a part of Richardson Stadium history.
As the proud home of Gaels Football, the new stadium will feature:
New entry gates onto the upper concourse with elevated spectator walkway surrounding the stands from above;
A new multi-story pavilion is being planned that will enclose the open north end of the new stadium and will become the permanent home of Queen’s Football operations. The pavilion will include modern dressing rooms, therapy facilities, a weight training facility, coaching offices, meeting rooms, classroom, spectator and guest hosting amenities, plus additional spectator seating.
The time is now. We are in the final minutes of the fourth quarter. Are you in?
If you donate now, you will have the opportunity to double the impact of your gift. Through the generosity of individual donors, we have secured a match open to all football alumni and parents. Donations from $500 to $25,000 will be matched dollar for dollar. If you graduated in 2006 or later, your donation will be doubled. All gifts will be matched until matching funds have been depleted.
If you pledge $1,000 or more prior to June 30, you will have the opportunity to reserve your place in history or pay tribute to former coaches or teammates on a special feature wall at the entry of the new stadium. Additional naming opportunities are available for gifts of over $25,000.
